Q4 2020 Wellness Apps Surge in Latin America

As the year 2020 came to a close, the wellness app market in Latin America demonstrated robust performance. Sensor Tower's data gives us a clear view of the trends among the top five wellness applications on the unified platform, which includes both iOS and Android devices.

Calm experienced a peak in downloads reaching around 147K in mid-October, followed by a consistent decline to approximately 50K by late November, and then a rebound to over 130K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users showed a similar pattern, with a high of around 480K in mid-October, dropping to approximately 406K in late November, and rising again to nearly 500K by year's end.

Meditopia: AI, Meditation also saw its highest downloads for the quarter in mid-October at approximately 131K, before declining to around 44K in late December. Weekly active users for Meditopia peaked at around 642K in late October, with a noticeable decrease to about 513K by the end of December.

Headspace: Sleep & Meditation maintained a more stable trend in downloads, with a slight increase from around 5K in late September to over 10K by the end of December. The app's active users fluctuated modestly, ranging from approximately 61K to 61K during the quarter.

Meditation: Mindfulness & Calm saw its downloads vary from about 15K to 17K, showing a slight increase towards the end of the quarter. The weekly active users showed a slight decline from around 140K in late September to approximately 140K by the end of December.

Lastly, Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker had its downloads peak at approximately 28K at the end of December, despite an overall downward trend earlier in the quarter. The weekly active users saw a decrease from around 141K in late September to about 90K in mid-December, before rebounding to approximately 139K by the year's end.
